What? WHAT?!

If you decide that running full speed into a brick wall isn't painful enough anymore, try this article: http://www2.macleans.ca/2010/04/06/how-much-did-the-pope-know/

One of the most notable comments comes directly from the esteemed Rev. Frank Morrisey, a professor of canon law at St. Paul’s University in Ottawa. While I don't have any idea what canons have to do with the church, other than for their apparent utility in blowing heathens apart, Frank attempts to make the case for the church sheltering child rapists because it keeps them off the street, where no doubt they would do REAL damage.

Here is the quote from the article, in case you don't want to read it:

“It’s what we call a life of prayer and penance. He [the child-raper being discussed in the article] can’t technically function as a priest, but if we put him out on the street and he was still a predator, then he is under no supervision. People are blaming the Church for keeping these people and putting them in special living situations, but imagine if they just said: ‘Fine, out you go.’ ”

Yeah! Just imagine! If you take child-rapists out of the church, away from positions of influence where parents leave you unsupervised with their children, just imagine what would happen! No asshole would be safe! There would be priests everywhere, fucking everything! It would be Fuckageddon! I, for one, am perfectly happy to let the children block the wrathful cocks of horny priests on our behalf. I completely agree with Frank, it is much better for priests to live what they call "a life of prayer and penance", which I assume is some kind of code for unrestrained child-fucking while the church turns a blind eye. I gather the "special living situations" that Frank referred to mean that when the child-rapist gets tired of fucking his current flock, he gets moved to another parish. Fresh(ish) meat, so to speak.

One question I do have for Frank is that he said child rapers can't technically function as priests. That is confusing. Why not? Does Frank mean that an imaginary being that is invoked to justify all sort of atrocities draws the line at raping children? Oh, wait! I read it wrong. I think Frank must mean that a priest that is busy raping children can't function as a priest because raping children is too distracting. I get that. Hell, some people can't even walk and chew gum at the same time. Imagine raping and preaching at the same time. Impossible!

Also, maybe I am being immature, but the phallic connotations of the name "Frank" really make me laugh. Inappropriately, to be sure.

AMEN!
